- Shortly
after the signing of the contract Reinsma Homes applies for
permits and the scheduling process begins. The excavating contractor
digs the hole for the basement foundation and trench excavates
for the garage foundation.
- The concrete contractor installs a footing. After the footing
is installed, the foundation walls are formed and poured. After
a curing time the foundation walls are “stripped”
and is damp proofed. After that is complete, the excavator returns
to backfill the foundation. This process usually takes about
3-4 weeks.
- At this time the exterior color selections should have been
completed (e.g. roof color, brick selection, and siding and
entry door).
- The actual framing of your new home begins. Your excitement
starts to build as you are able to see your dreams of a new
home start to take on a physical shape. The floor goes down
and the walls go up, and soon the shape of your dream home is
under roof. This process usually takes about 2-3 weeks.
- At this time your interior selections should be complete (e.g.
cabinets, counter tops, vanities and tops, ceramic, carpeting
and resilient flooring).
- During the next part of the construction process you really
don’t see any physical changes as drastic as the framing,
but things are getting done. The plumbing, H.V.A.C. system and
electrical systems are being installed. This usually takes about
3-4 weeks.
- At this time the lighting fixtures selection should be complete.
- After this the shingles go on the roof and the bricks and siding
go on your new home. On the inside, your new home is being insulated
and drywalled. You really start to see your dream home start
to come alive with the color choices that you made earlier in
the process. Paint is sprayed and rolled on the walls and ceiling.
The ceramic flooring is installed. The cabinets trim, and doors
are installed along with lighting fixtures and the vanity and
counter tops.
- The amount of time for these items to be accomplished is about
5-6 weeks
- Carpeting is the last item that needs to be installed and we’re
almost done.
- Along with the inside of the home being completed the exterior
is also being finished. Driveway and sidewalks are being poured
and final grading of the lot is being completed. Cleaning of
the interior of your new home is being completed as well.
- The approximate time it takes us to build your dream home is
4-5 months (weather permitting).

progress of your new home, share photos with friends and family,
all from the comfort of your home or anywhere you have access
to the internet.
